Escape plan

The plan turned out to be a failure. But I got away with only minor injuries. Thumbs up and the gladiators of The Institute will be back.
Ulf Fågelhammar

Old tree

Like an old tree, with roots absorbing water and nutrients from the soil. With photosynthetic leaves and branches - yes, it would be nice to be like an old tree in the era of The Institute. When lightning strikes.

The Magic Theatre

And this wonderful girl--if only I had known her name! All of a sudden there was a human being, a living human being, to shatter the death that had come down over me like a glass case, and to put out a hand to me, a good and beautiful and warm hand. / Herman Hesse

Summer solstice...

...and winter solstice on the southern hemisphere. People look to the sky (or to the ground) for answers. But little is revealed about the faint blue spot cruising the universe.

Perfection doesn't have limits

“Heaven is not a place, and it is not a time. Heaven is being perfect. And that isn't flying a thousand miles an hour, or a million, or flying at the speed of light. Because any number is a limit, and perfection doesn't have limits. Perfect speed is being there.” / Richard Bach

The Gambler

“I wanted to fathom her secrets; I wanted her to come to me and say: "I love you," and if not that, if that was senseless insanity, then...well, what was there to care about? Did I know what I wanted? I was like one demented: all I wanted was to be near her, in the halo of her glory, in her radiance, always, for ever, all my life. I knew nothing more!”

JKPG

JKPG/Jönköping

"Groves and hills and roofs, and the spires of Jönköping City, which shimmered along Vettern's shores, lay enveloped in pale blue that caressed the eye. If there were countries in heaven, they, too, must be blue like this, thought the boy, believing that he had got a faint idea of how it must look in Paradise." (From Nils Holgersson's wonderful journey across Sweden)
Johan Larsson

The Lighting

"Give us some light on the stage, electrician. How can we
Playwrights and actors put forward
Our images of the world in half darkness?"
- Bertolt Brecht

vanishing point

"The point, when we decide, to join, the anonymous crowd, giving up on our dreams... is the vanishing point. "
Ksenija Spanec

Make goals not wars

The Institute forced me to identify myself as a team and a nation. I refused. I'm a cosmopolite, nationalism doesn't grow on my ground.
Sanja Buterin

the greatest sculptor

"The sea is the greatest sculptor
The sea is the greatest jeweller
The sea and death
There is no stone so jagged
the sea won’t rub it smooth
or grind it to sand
or finer"
Gunnar Ekelöf, 1965

Dreaming

In my dreams I've tried to fight the creatures of the Institute, without success. I always wake up with a blank mind - like a question mark.

The Wheel of Life

"The Wheel of Life will Turn and Turn and Roll on!
Great big wheel will turn again;
Better get rid of all your sin!
Wheel of Life will turn again and roll on."

the point is

"When the words do not come, invent them. When the words you know are forbidden, invent the alternative. It is like opening the mind, projecting thoughts, which slips down, all around the feet, taking the form of shadows. Shadows can do no harm. They are beyond the reach, they live in the zone of imagination. Everyone is free to take the meaning they want. To interpret, to get the point, to accept, refuse. The point is not to reveal. The point is to become shadow."

the Wheel of the Year

Objects that refer to paganism like life rings, bath rings, garlands etc have been prohibited. The citizens are obliged to swear that they will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Institute.

Les féministes

The Institute is worried about the growth of feminist movements. It has characterize feminism as  the mad, wicked folly of Woman's Rights. But it keeps growing like weed. The Propaganda Division has suggested that The Institute should declare that it is a feminist system. This would of course only be a tactic measure to take the edge off the annoying feminist movement.

What will future archaeologists say about this?

It is a bomb from the stone age? It is a monolith, an obelisk...hmm we do not know.

I was looking for the Côa Valley

I wanted to see the drawings, the carvings in the stones ... one of the first outdoor exhibitions of Art. It happened about 20 000 years ago. I found other signs... were they the remains of a recent civilization?

the fall of Utopia

"From utopia to dystopia, by burning down the library of knowledge.Erasing the memory and rule the world for the sake of infinite hunger for the power. Why? Why some of us are made to build and some to destroy?"
Ksenija Spanec

DAY 03

Smileys and cotton candy - they are trying everything to lure me back in. I smashed one of their glass windows and ran.
